At Ark Fire Protection, we believe in making a difference beyond the job site. Our Acts of Random Kindness campaign is about giving back through meaningful, hands-on support, not just donations.
Whether it’s offering time, resources, or practical help to individuals, families, or local causes, we aim to show compassion in action. These acts may be small, but their impact is lasting.
Litter Picking in the Local Area
Our team took time out to give back to the local community by volunteering for a litter-picking initiative. By helping to clean up shared spaces and remove unwanted waste, we aimed to make the surrounding environment cleaner, safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
It’s a simple act that reflects our commitment to looking after the communities in which we live and work.
18-Mile Charity Walk Across Scotland
Our Senior Estimator, Graeme, took on an impressive 18-mile charity walk across Scotland to raise funds and awareness for a worthy cause. The challenge required determination, endurance and plenty of perseverance, all in the name of making a positive difference.

Toy Donations to Local Children's Hospital
The Ark team came together to donate toys to children receiving treatment at a local hospital. We wanted to bring a little happiness and comfort to young patients and their families during what can often be a challenging and emotional time.
Sometimes, even the smallest gesture can make a difficult day that little bit brighter.
5K-a-Day Challenge (May)
Several members of the Ark team committed to running 5km every day throughout May to raise awareness and support for Dravet Syndrome, a rare and complex form of epilepsy. Taking on a daily physical challenge required dedication and teamwork, while helping to shine a light on a condition that affects children and families.
Every kilometre represented another opportunity to raise awareness and make a difference.
First Ark Wellness Day
We organised our first Ark Wellness Day to give employees the opportunity to step away from their daily routines and focus on their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. The day included mindfulness sessions, nutrition talks and team-building activities designed to encourage healthier habits and stronger connections.
Looking after our people is just as important as the work we do, and this was an opportunity to put that belief into practice.
Second Ark Wellness Day
Following the positive response to our first Wellness Day, we brought the team together once again for another day dedicated to health, wellbeing and connection. The event reinforced the importance of taking time to recharge, support one another and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
By continuing these initiatives, we aim to create a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported and encouraged to prioritise their wellbeing.
Peterborough Elderly Shoe Box Appeal
At Christmas, the Ark team came together to prepare thoughtful shoebox gifts for elderly members of the Peterborough community. Each box was filled with carefully selected presents and heartfelt messages, helping to spread some festive cheer and remind recipients that they are valued and remembered.
We wanted to make the Christmas period a little brighter for those who may otherwise feel isolated or alone.
Lincolnshire Wildlife Centre
Our team spent a rewarding day volunteering at Lincolnshire Wildlife Centre, getting involved in hands-on activities to support the centre and its animals. Together, we planted an incredible 5,000 bulbs and had the memorable experience of helping to feed the tigers.
It was a fantastic opportunity to give our time to a worthwhile cause while learning more about the importance of animal welfare and conservation.
NHS Flowers - Daffodil Deliveries
As part of our NHS Daffodil Deliveries initiative, the Ark team visited 12 Addenbrooke’s Hospital sites to personally deliver daffodils to NHS staff. It was a simple but heartfelt way to show our gratitude for the dedication, compassion and hard work demonstrated by healthcare professionals every day.
We hope the flowers brought a little brightness to their working day and reminded them just how appreciated they are.
Addenbrooke's Trust Volunteering
The Ark team is proud to support Addenbrooke’s through hands-on volunteering, giving our time to help make a positive difference to the hospital community. By getting involved in practical activities and offering an extra pair of hands where needed, we hope to support the incredible work carried out by hospital staff and volunteers.
It’s another opportunity for us to give back in a meaningful way and show our appreciation for those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
Meerkat Village Renovation - Lincolnshire Wildlife Centre
Following our previous volunteering experience at Lincolnshire Wildlife Centre, the Ark team is getting involved once again, this time helping to renovate the centre’s Meerkat Village. By putting our practical skills and teamwork to good use, we aim to help improve the animals’ surroundings and create a refreshed environment for the meerkats to enjoy.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to support the centre’s ongoing animal welfare efforts while contributing to a project that will benefit both the animals and their visitors.
Skydive for the Lighthouse Charity
Taking fundraising to new heights, members of the Ark team are supporting the Lighthouse Charity by taking on an exhilarating charity skydive. The challenge aims to raise awareness and funds for the charity, which provides vital emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families.
It’s a bold way to step outside our comfort zones for a cause that is particularly close to our industry, and one we’re proud to get behind.

Goods For Good
Through our Essentials for Good initiative, the team will donate essential toiletries and hygiene products to the Goods for Good charity to support vulnerable children and people experiencing homelessness.

Third Ark Wellness Day
A full day back for the whole team, with forest walks, HIIT, yoga, a sound bath and sauna, expert talks on mindfulness, movement and posture, and food cooked from scratch on site throughout the day.
