What happens when a fire door fails compliance
If you can’t evidence the door
A fire door you can’t evidence is a fire door you can’t rely on. Without a certification record, an install record and an inspection history, the Responsible Person can’t demonstrate the door does what its rating claims. In an 11m+ building, a gap in the inspection record is a direct breach of the FS(E)R 2022, and in social housing it carries Regulator of Social Housing and Awaab’s Law exposure on top.
If the installation isn’t controlled
The doorset is certified; the installation often isn’t. The wrong seal, hinge, closer or frame packing quietly voids the fire rating – the door looks right and no longer performs. Legacy stock makes it worse: thousands of historic doors with no data tag, no certification chain and unknown provenance.
How Ark protects compliance
Third-party certified doorsets, FDIS- and FIRAS-accredited inspectors, and data-tagged installation records via the Onetrace QR system. Every door carries a digital record – specification, data sheet, installer, photos and inspection history – on a documented rhythm that matches the regulatory frequency, so the Responsible Person can produce evidence on demand.
