National FRA Remedial Works Programme Live Supermarket Portfolio

Ark delivers FRA remedial works across the client’s national store portfolio. The contract requires attendance within defined SLAs and completion within specified working hours, while protecting store operations, food safety and the experience of customers and colleagues.

 

Work orders are received through the client’s portal, which sets out each store’s requirements and response times. On arrival, operatives sign in through the portal, creating an accurate record of attendance and supporting transparent performance monitoring across the contract

Planning & Store Coordination

Prior to commencing works, we survey and map the required remedials within Onetrace. We then provide the Store Manager with a clear schedule showing exactly where and when work will take place. This allows the store team to relocate produce, prepare the area and coordinate our activities with their own operational priorities, reducing delays and avoiding unplanned disruption.

 

Works are carefully sequenced around trading hours. Shop-floor remedials are completed between 6:00am and 8:00am, when store colleagues are present but the premises are closed to customers. Once the store opens, the team moves to back-of-house and office areas. This approach enables progress throughout the working day while keeping customer-facing areas clear and supporting uninterrupted trading.

Site Discipline & Food Safety

Operatives follow the supermarket’s site-specific health and safety and food-handling procedures. For example, fresh produce is never moved by our operatives directly; the Store Manager is notified and authorised store colleagues clear the area. This maintains clear responsibility for stock, reduces the risk of contamination or damage, and gives the client confidence that its operational controls will be followed consistently.

Specialist Access

Some warehouse and high-level work areas require mobile access equipment. Appropriately trained operatives use the access method identified through the task-specific risk assessment, and hold relevant PASMA, IPAF, working-at-height and ladder-safety training. This allows a wider range of remedial works to be completed safely by the attending team and reduces avoidable delays associated with specialist access.
