Ark Team discussing passive fire protection works on a building site.

Collaboration with FSI Promat

Ark Fire Protection has once again demonstrated its commitment to collaboration, compliance, and innovation through a powerful new partnership with leading fire stopping manufacturer FSi Promat. The joint project – captured in a behind-the-scenes video shoot this month – showcases the meticulous fire protection solutions being delivered by both teams on a live Hill construction site, Newnton Close, London.

At the heart of the collaboration is the installation of FSi Promat’s Flexi-Coat® System, an advanced solution for sealing penetrations and apertures. The system features both a liquid-applied coating and pre-coated “Flexi-Coat Fingers”, offering up to 120 minutes of certified fire resistance. Crucially, both systems carry the CCPI mark, a symbol of compliance with the highest standards of construction product information.

“At Ark Fire Protection, collaboration is at the core of everything we do,” said Howard Hudson, Ark’s Managing Director. “By working closely with trusted manufacturers like FSI from the design stage onward, we ensure that every product specified is not just compliant – but precisely matched to the risks and layouts of individual buildings.”

The project highlights Ark’s emphasis on third-party certification and robust quality assurance systems. As a FIRAS-certified, UKAS-compliant, and ISO 9001:2015-accredited contractor, Ark Fire Protection ensures every stage of installation is inspected, documented, and independently verified.

“We never cut corners,” added Joe Gale, Operations Director. “Every fire stopping detail is backed by training, manufacturer collaboration, and ongoing compliance audits. That’s what it means to deliver passive fire protection the Ark way.”

FSI Promat, part of the global Etex Group, is recognised as one of the UK’s largest fire stopping manufacturers, with a deep portfolio of solutions across brands including Cedral, Equitone, Eternit, Siniat, URSA, and Superglass.

“The Flexi-Coat® System is designed to meet the highest standards of performance and compliance, with built-in flexibility for a wide range of site conditions. Working alongside Ark Fire Protection, a team that shares our commitment to precision and integrity, ensures the system is installed exactly as intended – safely, effectively, and in full alignment with fire safety regulations.” said Charlie Perkins, Senior Technical advisor, FSI.

The collaboration not only demonstrates technical excellence but underlines a shared belief in raising industry benchmarks for compliance, transparency, and trust. The video from the day will be released soon across both Ark Fire Protection’s and FSI’s websites and LinkedIn pages, offering a behind-the-scenes look at this successful collaboration.

“Projects like this not only strengthen our partnerships – but also reinforce the trust our clients place in us to deliver safety, quality, and compliance at every stage.” Said Howard Hudson.
