As part of our commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2040, we have developed our Carbon Reduction Plan (CRP) outlining our strategy to achieve zero carbon across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. We have taken steps to accurately measure, understand and monitor our carbon footprint in line with Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, using the Normative carbon calculator accessed via the SME Carbon Hub (see opposite), creating year-to-year processes to track our carbon emissions and we are currently working towards ISO14001 accreditation.
Contract-specific and company carbon emissions will be through the following:
- Scope 1: Monitor vehicle emissions reports from our fleet provider, fuel card statements and SimPRO data.
- Scope 2: Analyse data from monthly utilities bills (electricity, gas, water).
- Scope 3: Calculate breakdown of materials categories to utilise Normative’s proxy values and working with suppliers to capture carbon data on products used.
We offset emissions through our partnership with Just One Tree, supporting global reforestation.
Waste Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling:
Energy and Resource Efficiency
- Our head office is powered by Solar PV and heated by biomass boiler.
- Technicians are trained to minimise water use during equipment cleaning, adhering to COSHH assessments.
Sustainable Materials and Ethical Sourcing
- All timber products from FSC/PEFC Certified sources
- COSHH Assessments on all products
- Low-VOC passive fire products with Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) to reduce toxic emissions
- Training technicians in preventing pollution risks (e.g. when cleaning equipment)
Vehicle Emissions and Transport
- Employing technicians locally
- Encouraging use of public transport and cycling
- Implementing van sharing using our Crew Cab vans, which seat up to 6 people
- Managers/Supervisors drive electric vehicles, with all vehicles being Euro6 (Ultra Low Emissions)
- Purchasing materials locally
- Local stores facility with monthly consolidated deliveries to reduce transportation.
