Role Responsibilities

 

A Fire Stopping Surveyor is responsible for assessing, maintaining, and improving a properties Fire Door and Passive Fire Solutions to prevent the spread of fire, protect lives, and minimise property damage. In this role you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

 

  • Inspection and Assessment: Meet with clients and survey works in multiple locations across the UK. Conduct thorough inspections of buildings to identify areas where fire-resistant barriers, known as fire stopping, are required, both commercial and residential.
  • Documentation: Document existing fire stopping installations and assess their condition and effectiveness.
  • Compliance: Ensure that fire stopping materials and installations comply with relevant fire safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards. Stay updated on evolving fire safety codes, regulations and guidelines.
  • Recommendations: Provide detailed reports outlining necessary corrective actions and improvements to achieve or maintain fire safety compliance.
  • Verification: Inspect and verify the installation of fire stopping materials and systems during construction or renovation projects.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and building owners to ensure fire stopping is integrated into the building design and construction process.
  • Education: Educate building owners, facility managers, and other stakeholders on the importance of proper fire stopping and maintenance.
  • Updates: Stay informed about evolving fire safety codes and industry best practices to ensure that fire stopping measures remain up to date.
  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate the potential risks associated with fire spread and containment breaches in buildings and recommend mitigation strategies.

 

 

Requirements

 


You’ll be a well presented, approachable and professional, self-starter. Excellent organisation and time management is essential for this role with the ability to work under pressure. Your attention to detail will be thorough and accurate. You must demonstrate effective management and prioritisation of your workload and work to strict deadlines.

 

  • A minimum of 3 years industry experience.
  • A clean UK driving licence
  • A minimum of 2 years surveying experience 
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations and codes.

Salary starting from £35,000 +

 


Salary will be discussed with each candidate and will be set dependant on experience and qualifications. Company Vehicle will be considered.
